Funds Floated by Angels
Angels Asset Reconstruction Fund –I (AARF-I): In 2007, Angels raised Rs. 258 crore for AARF-I, the first dedicated fund in India for investing in NPAs acquired from Banks and Financial Institutions. AARF-I was launched in July 2007 and Angels was able to close within three months of its launch.
The investors in AARF-I include Insurance Companies, Public and Private Sector Banks and other Financial Institutions. Angels contributed about 20% of the funds raised by AARF-I. By January 2008, Angels had fully drawn down and invested the fund in a diversified portfolio.
Angels Asset Reconstruction Fund –II (AARF-II): In January 2009, Angels launched its second fund, AARF-II. The fund size was of Rs. 191 crore with a participation of Rs. 90 crore by Angels.
The investors in AARF-II include Insurance Companies, Public and Private Sector Banks, Housing Company and Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs).
